Noun: the visual quality of the out-of-focus areas of a photographic image, especially as rendered by a particular lens.
A project that pushes the limits of Bokeh photography, pushing the technical boundaries and expectations and opening a new possibility. A Creative outlet of my inner thoughts and a method of Phototherapy. The project, a way of me clearing any Mind fog, a method of going out with my camera and shooting, and after being in the spaces documented feeling a sense of clarity and calm compared to the distress and unsureness in my mind before hand.
Yahweh is the title for this series, which portrays the churches I grew up in. The photographs show how I see the church using a documentary approach.
Peter Arnold, for the past 3 years of his degree, has focused in portraiture, with a
concentration around minorities such as people of colour, people of different religions and
the LGBTQ+ community in order to bring light to the individuals within these communities
and the struggles they face on a regular basis. His current project ‘PRIDE’ is focused around
identities found within the LGBTQ+ community and to highlight the struggles people face
when coming to terms with their sexuality and learning to accept who they are.
Axiomatic is to represent the undeniable, it means to be self-evident. The context of my images is
expressed largely via the use of symbolism with a contemporary story, thus I thought it was a fitting
title for a project about the reflections of war. The aim of my work is to produce images that will
make people react, whether it be with sympathy, hope, or even a dislike, I want to create something
that will make people feel.
Zoe is an abstract photographer, mainly focusing on capturing or affecting emotions. This project is based on recording internal emotions through photography and translating them onto the viewer. The creation of this work involves going out and capturing images when she is feeling sad or negative. The use of colour and texture within abstraction created ambiguous images leaving them open to interpretation for the viewer. This allows her to understand if the audience’s emotions are impacted by the images.
The Multiverse; Kaleidoscope Outputs
Thomas Martin Loveder wishes to bring you his unique style within a growing vision of how our world could and is already being. Each image within his world is inspired by the Multiverse Theory and stems from an original motion in time captured as the Photograph. Drawing further inspiration from those moments, the original Photograph is multiplied on itself within a digital landscape and it is then that the distilling of infinite possible universes into a still digital representation occurs. To communicate how it is that Thomas can call his work Photography, he asks you to forget the camera and return to your dictionaries etymology section on Photography ‘Photos - Graph - Drawing with light’ combining this historical meaning with the theory Wave-Particle Duality in Physics, reality is either free-flowing or condensed light into physical form.
With this view, Thomas lives his life as the Photograph.

Photography is depicted to be a medium of art which produces ‘truthful’ documents. In the current digital era photography’s context has changed in that the ease of its dissemination allows it to replace and form a new type of language. The project is an exploration of photography’s transition from documentative realism to abstraction. By using ‘live images’ the context of the original subject matter changes. The accumulation of this imagery forms a record and in the evolution of time asks the question of what the original is, whilst playing upon authenticity. This type of photographic document maintains to have a predetermined definition to be consistently asking where the context of photography remains.

The Destruction of Us
Climate change is an issue that is happening in front of us that many people choose to
ignore. If we allow this to continue, the effects will cause severe issues on the environment.
Being an environmentalist, I want to raise awareness about this situation and influence
people to start making a change in their lifestyles. The idea is to get people more aware of
the issues of the environment and how we can prevent this from getting any worse.
I have always been into making photographic work by hand, allowing you to have your
personality and expression put into your concept. I intend to use photographic paper and
expose it to plastic. The photos will represent pollution in the air and how this ‘invisible’
problem is getting worse. While you can see a ‘fix’ photograph, you can also see the
‘exposed’ photograph. This will visualise how the environment is slowly degrading, yet some
are ignorant to it because they cannot see it.
I have also collected water from around Plymouth to show the pollutions in our water. I froze
the water and then took photographs of the way they looked, how you can see the dirt and
plastic frozen. I plan on letting the ice melt and just be a pool of polluted water to show how
unclean the environment is, but to also show how our ice caps are melting right in front of us.
It is at such a slow pace, we do not see the results until the end.
The concept of this project is to show that the environment is at its present moment for us,
but over time, it is degrading to a point of destruction.
